AUSTRALIAN tennis star Nick Kyrgios has been summoned to face the ACT Magistrates Court next month in relation to the alleged assault of a former girlfriend.
ACT Policing confirmed in a statement that a “27-year-old Watson man is scheduled to face the ACT Magistrates Court on August 2 in relation to one charge of common assault following an incident in December 2021.”
The charge carries a maximum jail sentence of two years.
It comes as the the world no.40 is set to play Chile’s Cristian Garin in the Wimbledon quarter-final on Wednesday (July 6).
