Man dies in head-on collision in Kambah

A 42-year-old man has died following a two-vehicle collision in Kambah earlier this evening (August 29). His death is the 11th fatality on ACT roads this year.

At about 5.40pm, police and emergency services were called to the collision on Sulwood Drive, near Colquhoun Street, Kambah.  

A Volkswagen wagon and a 4WD utility had collided head-on and the driver of the sedan was trapped in his vehicle.  

Emergency services extricated him from the Volkswagen. Despite emergency assistance, he died at the scene of the accident. 

The driver of the 4WD was also extracted from her vehicle and was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
