Sustainability loans open to community groups

SUSTAINABLE Household Scheme loans have expanded today (August 30) allowing not-for-profit community groups to apply for zero interest loans up to $15,000.

With a maximum loan term of up to 10 years, eligible community groups can use the loans to make sustainable upgrades, or purchase an electric vehicle, to reduce energy costs and the impact of greenhouse gas emissions in the ACT.

The expansion of the scheme aims to help community organisations make small and large changes that can lead to positive impacts for the community.

Upgrades can include rooftop solar, household battery storage, zero emission vehicles and efficient electric household appliances, with more than 7000 households having already applied for a loan.
