Teen on good behaviour allegedly breaks into home

A 17-YEAR-OLD boy serving a suspended sentence for grievous bodily harm and a good behaviour order for assaulting a police officer is alleged to have ransacked a house in Rivett and threatened a woman with a knife on the weekend.

At about 7pm on Sunday (September 11), CCTV captured the teen using a rock to break the front glass door of the Rivett home before allegedly making his way to a bedroom and stealing multiple items.

A woman in the house approached the bedroom where she was allegedly assaulted as she tried to remove the teen from her home.

The teen is alleged to have then stole some clothing, kicked her vehicle and threatened to stab her before leaving.

He is set to appear in the ACT Children’s Court today and has been charged with burglary, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, minor theft, and two counts damage property not exceeding $5000.

ACT Policing will oppose bail.
