20 sports fields to stay open through maintenance period

TWENTY irrigated sports fields will stay open for training during the two-week winter maintenance period that starts on Saturday.

Most fields will undergo maintenance, such as top dressing (spreading a new layer of sand/soil) and upgrades to turf, installing goal posts and line marking, from Saturday to March 31.

The maintenance period is carried out twice yearly at the beginning and end of the summer sport season.

  • Duffy
  • Griffith (two fields)
