Parkes Way ramp closes for a week

THERE will be a one-week, temporary closure of the ramp leading from Parkes Way eastbound on to Commonwealth Avenue southbound from Tuesday next week.

As part of work on the raising London Circuit project to accommodate light rail, significant excavation is needed in this area. The ACT government says full ramp closure is required to safely carry out utility works, allowing for much of the work to be completed at once.

The week-long road closure will reduce the number of weekend closures that would otherwise be required.

Work will take place 24 hours a day while closures are in place to accomplish as much as possible in the allowed time.

Road closure: The Parkes Way off-ramp on to Commonwealth Avenue will be closed from 10am, March 21 to 7am, March 28.

If work is delayed by weather or unforeseen circumstances, works may be required from 8pm Friday, March 31 to 7am, April 3.
