Light rail vehicle collides with pedestrian

A light rail vehicle collided with a pedestrian in Downer on Tuesday morning, prompting a police investigation.

The collision occurred about 8.55am north of the intersection of Northbourne Avenue and Antill Street.

Several motorists stopped to assist the pedestrian after the collision.

Police are investigating the circumstances leading up to the incident and are particularly seeking the driver of a white ACT-registered Tesla that was nearby at the time.

Anyone with information or dash-cam or CCTV footage is urged to contact police via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
