Man dies in Jervis Bay rough seas

A 34-year-old man has died after being pulled from the water at Jervis Bay on Saturday afternoon.

Police and emergency services were called to Greenpatch Beach, on the southern shore of Jervis Bay, at about 4.45pm on Saturday, following reports of several people struggling to stay afloat in rough conditions.

The NSW man was brought back to shore, where CPR was begun; however, he was declared dead at the scene.

Three other people were assessed by paramedics, with none requiring further medical treatment.

Tragic event at a much loved and visited location. Such a sad end to a family outing or holiday and a warning to all people who visit this fabulous place.

So glad to hear Jervis Bay pronounced correctly on ABC radio
