A 28-year-old man has been charged after allegedly assaulting and threatening his former partner in her car while two children were present.
Police allege the man entered the woman’s car while she was driving in Wanniassa about 10am on Tuesday and demanded she return to her home.
He allegedly threatened the woman and struck her in the face before she was able to escape from the car in Oxley about 10.50am and ask bystanders to call police.
Police arrested the man at a Lyons home later that afternoon.
He has been charged with unauthorised entry of a motor vehicle, reckless threats to inflict grievous bodily harm, aggravated common assault and forcible confinement.
