THE Australia Council has announced the investment of almost $3 million delivered through Playing Australia to support performing arts to tour, including to audiences in regional and remote areas, with tours scheduled from 2022. They have also announced a number of new online, hybrid and remote-based professional and creative development opportunities, here.

CANBERRA-Argentine pianist Marcela Fiorillo continues her online musical lockdown offerings, this time focusing on the music of  Carlos Guastavino,  one of the most important composers of Argentina, whose music, quite conservative, always tonal and romantic, was clearly influenced by Argentine folk music. ACT Writers (formerly the ACT Writers Centre) has announced that the publishing component of the awards 2021 ACT Writing and Publishing Awards will be rescheduled for January shortlisting February winners’ announcement. These awards, they say, rely on the logistics of entrants physically dropping books off, untenable at the moment.
