THE WNBL have cancelled Sunday’s (December 12) game between the UC Capitals and the Sydney Flames due to a positive COVID-19 case.
A member of the UC Capitals club attended a training session earlier this week and has since tested positive, with the person now isolating for 14 days.
All players and coaches at the training session have been deemed close contacts, have been tested and are undergoing a week-long isolation period.
The WNBL says that as a precaution, the Sydney Flames team will also undergo testing.
It’s understood the game will be rescheduled later in the season.
“We will continue to monitor this situation closely working collaboratively with the clubs,” said Paul Maley, executive general manager of competitions.
