A ROAD safety crackdown along the Monaro Highway on Monday saw 52 infringement notices issued, including for unrestrained children.
The road safety issues were a focus of a multi-agency operation, including ACT Police, Access Canberra and the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator.
The targeted approach saw 3294 random breath tests conducted, as the joint operation also searched for unregistered or uninsured vehicles, unroadworthy vehicles, professional driver log book issues and heavy vehicles with excess weight or unsecured loads.
90 defect notices were issued, and 31 drug driving tests conducted, with two people being issued summons for unlicenced driving and drug driving.
ACT Policing Sergeant Travis Mills said that Monday’s activities were just one way police and their partners both enforce the road rules and spread the message about road safety.
