A Kingston man has been charged after police allegedly found a loaded handgun, a taser and a key to a stolen motorcycle during a search of his unit earlier this year.
Police allege a black 2023 Yamaha XSR900 was stolen from a secure car park in January before being ridden dangerously in Macquarie and Kingston by a man believed to be under the influence of a substance.
After locating the motorcycle in Kingston, officers searched a unit on Wentworth Avenue, where they allegedly found a loaded handgun, a taser and a key matching the stolen bike. The motorcycle was also seized.
The 34-year-old was arrested by NSW Police at a motel in Yass on Friday before being extradited from Goulburn to the ACT.
He has been charged with driving a motor vehicle without consent and unauthorised possession of prohibited firearms.
