Car hits tree after alleged high-speed drive in Wanniassa

Police are investigating alleged dangerous driving after a car crashed into a tree in Wanniassa last week.

Police say a grey Hyundai Elantra left the road and struck a tree near the intersection of Sternberg Crescent and Wheeler Crescent about 5.15pm on Wednesday.

Witnesses reported the car, bearing ACT registration YFP14K, was travelling at high speed before the crash.

Police are investigating the circumstances leading up to the collision and are seeking witnesses or dash-cam and CCTV footage.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
