E-scooter rider critically injured

A man is in a critical condition after coming off an e-scooter in Bonython on Friday afternoon.

Police said they were called about 3.40pm after reports of an unconscious man lying beside a footpath on Barr Smith Avenue, Bonython.

An e-scooter was found nearby and police believe the man had been riding with a friend in the area before the incident.

The man was treated at the scene by witnesses and ambulance paramedics before being taken to hospital in a critical condition.

Police are appealing for anyone who saw a man riding an e-scooter, or who has dash-cam footage from the vicinity of Barr Smith Avenue about 3.30pm on Friday, to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
