Mike Welsh quits 2CC

DRIVE-TIME talk back presenter Mike Welsh has resigned from radio station 2CC this month after almost 11 years.

Welsh told “CityNews” the reason behind his resignation was a “long-running issue with middle management” that could not be solved.

“I’m disappointed it had to end like this and that we couldn’t get certain things done,” he says.

“[By leaving], I feel I’ve let down people who trusted me. There’s a lot of people in the community who don’t have a voice who trust me to get politicians to do something.

“It was just a great privilege to share and talk to a lot of people in the community.”

Welsh, who has worked in the radio industry for over 30 years, has won six Australian Commercial Radio Awards and produced a TV documentary on Talk Radio titled “All Talk.”

His last day on air with 2cc will be Friday, November 15.
