THE cast for Shakespeare by the Lakes IV’s 2022 production of “As You Like It”, has been announced.

All eyes will be upon mother and daughter Karen and Natasha Vickery, who will, respectively, play the characters Jaques and Rosalind.

As the melancholy Jaques, Karen, gets to perform one of the Bard’s most famous speeches, “All the world’s a stage”, while Natasha will play the unique romantic character who dresses up as a boy but, to get her man, Orlando (Jake Fryer-Hornsby) pretends to be a girl so he can practice his love-pitch.

Directed by former National Institute of Dramatic Art head of acting Tony Knight, the show will feature an ensemble of 13.

One of the company regulars, Katerina Smalley, will play three roles, Amiens, Hymen and Madam Oli Martext.

Opening night for “As You Like It” is planned for mid-February and according to executive producer Taimus Werner-Gibbings, there will be at least five free shows around Canberra.
