CHARISMATIC rapper Briggs will join Christine Anu and other top First Nations musos will be in town for the Reconciliation Day Eve Concert 2022. At Canberra Theatre, 6.30pm, Sunday (May 29). 

LIKEWISE, Australian Parliament House recommends joining a tour about indigenous peoples’ experiences to commemorate Reconciliation Week, with the chance to see the Apology to Australia’s Indigenous Peoples, the Yirrkala Bark Petition, the collection of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art and, in the 30th anniversary year of the Mabo decision, archival photographs, videos and artworks exploring the impact of that decision on Australia.

AT the National Gallery in Singapore is “Ever Present”, a celebration of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art which also grapples with Australia’s complex histories. This exhibition is drawn from the collections of the National Gallery of Australia and Wesfarmers Arts and runs to September 25. The NGA estimates it to be “the largest exhibition of First Nations art to travel to Asia”.

TEMPO Theatre is staging George Bernard Shaw’s play “Pygmalion”, Belconnen Community Theatre, until  June 4.

THE Griffyn Ensemble have been visiting places on Ngunnawal land as they prepare a new work, “Tracks,” joined by the poetry group Postcards From The Sky. They’re holding an open recording-session at Belconnen Arts Centre from 3pm this Sunday, may 29, with space still available. Email [email protected] if interested.
