More storm suburbs get extra green-bin collection

FIVE more Belconnen suburbs impacted by the severe thunderstorm on Monday will get an additional green-waste bin collection on Saturday, January 15.

Clean-up support will be offered in Flynn, Fraser, Higgins, Melba and Page with an additional green waste collection, said Ben McHugh of Citiy Services.

This was in addition to the already nine suburbs that will receive an additional green waste bin collection tomorrow (January 8). Those suburbs are Charnwood, Dunlop, Florey, Hawker, Holt, Latham, Macgregor, Scullin and Weetangera.

Green waste that can be put in your green waste bin for collection includes garden pruning, leaves, grass clippings, weeds and small branches no longer than 45cm and a diameter of 10cm.
