Apartment car fire causes $500,000 damage

FIRE from a car set alight in the undercroft of a Wright apartment block has caused an estimated $500,000 of damage to the building. 

At about 1.45am on Friday police and emergency services responded to reports of the fire at 46 Steve Irwin Avenue.

The fire caused extensive damage to the electrical and sewer systems of the property.

Police want to talk to anyone who may have witnessed the fire or who lives near that address that has CCTV footage. Call 1800 333000, or via the Crime Stoppers ACT website.
