THE ACT government will spend up to $80,000 on a pilot program in two suburbs to involve the community in “suburban project development participatory democracy process”.
The government said residents in Page and Richardson could participate in the “My little big idea” program.
Up to $40,000 was available to each suburb and residents were invited to share ideas to help improve community wellbeing in their suburb.
Whether it’s a street library, fitness or cooking classes, a playgroup, event or series of activities, all ideas would be considered. One winning idea per suburb would receive funding to turn it into reality.
Community members would determine which idea would receive funding through a community panel and public vote later in the year. The winning projects would be funded and implemented in 2024.
