Drunken suspended P-plater blows 0.231

A 39-year-old man, driving on a suspended provisional licence, blew 0.231 after his car hit a tree in Macfarlane Burnet Avenue, Macgregor, on Saturday night.

Police arrested the driver and he was taken to Belconnen Police Station for breath analysis, where he recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.231. Police checks revealed the man’s provisional licence had been suspended in January, 2022.

He faces the Magistrates Court on Monday charged with level four drink driving and driving while suspended. He will also face a charge of contravening a family violence order and one count of aggravated common assault (family violence).
