Turf sportsgrounds reopened after rain

UPDATE, Tuesday: Following their closure earlier on Monday due to wet weather, all ACT Government turf sportsgrounds have re-opened.

ALL ACT government turf sportsgrounds will remain closed for training on Tuesday, following the weekend’s heavy rainfall. However, match play bookings are permitted to proceed.

The government says closures include turf sportsgrounds, but exclude the Melrose and Nicholls synthetic fields and the Woden athletics track.

In addition, synthetic cricket nets will also remain open with bookings at these locations able to proceed.

“Users of these facilities are encouraged to make their own safety assessment ahead of commencing activities,” the government says.

The grounds will be reassessed daily and an update provided on their reopening.
