A 34-year-old man on a good behaviour order has been accused of stealing more than $3600 worth of items in six incidents from shops across Canberra.

Police searched his Mawson home on Friday and found clothing the man allegedly wore during the theft incidents, as well as 92 pairs of high-end shoes and two motorcycle helmets believed to be proceeds of crime.

He has been charged with breaching good behaviour obligations, theft, two counts of minor theft, possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime and unlawful possession of stolen property.

The six incidents of alleged theft are:

• On March 9, 2025, the man is alleged to have stolen 15 items valued at a total value of $795 from a retail store in Majura.
• March 14, it is alleged he stole 18 items valued at $821 from a retail store in Tuggeranong.
• March 17, it is alleged he stole six items valued at $633 from a shop in Gungahlin.
• March 24, the man returns to the same retail store in Gungahlin where it is alleged he stole 16 items valued at $859.
• March 29, it is alleged he stole three items valued at $320 from a department store in Civic.
• April 7, 25, it is alleged he stole 19 items valued at a total of $185.20 from a grocery store in Mawson.

Police say inquiries are ongoing and further charges are expected to be laid.
