An 18-year-old Holt man has been charged after allegedly speeding, weaving through traffic and performing burnouts before leading police on a pursuit through Gungahlin on Sunday.
Police spotted a silver Ford Falcon without number plates on Gundaroo Drive, Giralang, about 4.30pm.
Police allege the driver was speeding, weaving through traffic and performing burnouts at roundabouts before failing to stop for officers.
Police deployed tyre deflation devices and began a pursuit, with the Falcon continuing on damaged tyres before entering a nearby greenbelt.
The driver and two passengers fled on foot but were arrested a short time later.
The driver has been charged with reckless or dangerous driving, failing to stop for police, using an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, and trespassing.
