Joel takes a swipe at the arts

WIRADJURI dancer, writer and performance-maker Joel Bray showed a group of interns at Canberra Theatre this morning (July 30) a bit of what he’ll be up to in the Courtyard Studio in the next couple of days.

There were a few satirical swipes at the contemporary arts in Australia, a little bit of Cyndi Lauper from musician Jess Green (AKA Pheno), and some smooth demonstrations of his own style of  dance.

Bray’s cabaret-style show, “I liked it but… I didn’t know what the f#!k it was about” is partly modelled on Politics in the Pub and Science in the Pub, so patrons will enjoy a house band and a free drink on arrival.
